อาจารย์กีรตินันท์เริ่มฝึกกีตาร์โปร่งกับพี่ชายคนโตเมื่ออายุ 10 ปี หลังจากนั้นอีก 2 ปี ก็ฝึกกีตาร์คลาสสิคด้วยตนเองโดยอาศัยตำราต่างประเทศ ที่ซื้อจากร้านวิลสันหน้าไปรษณีย์กลาง Kiratinant started practicing acoustic guitar with his eldest brother at the age of 10. Two years later he began to practise classical guitar by himself, learning from imported textbooks bought from Winson Store in front of the Grand Postal Building.
