ปลาฉลามวาฬที่เราเพิ่งได้มาในครั้งนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม 2014 เข้ามาในตาข่ายที่วางไว้ห่างจากชายฝั่งของท่าเรืออิบุริของศูนย์อิบุริประมาณ 2 กิโลเมตร และได้นำเข้าสู่ตู้ปลาของศูนย์อิบุริ เมื่อวันที่ 6 สิงหาคม 2014
