In 1610, Tokugawa Ieyasu constructed Nagoya Castle. Many local castles were destroyed in favor of the new Nagoya Castle, and much of the stonework from Kiyosu's walls, as well as timbers from the various structures, were utilized. Kiyosu Castles' main keep was dismantled, and reconstructed as a turret on the north-western corner of Nagoya Castle, overlooking the moat.
