Tree species here include looking-glass mangrove and " Ceriops ".
Small area of mangroves, Avicennia marina and Ceriops tagal, are found on the island.
They consist of species belonging to the Rhizophora, Avicennia, Bruguiera, Ceriops and Lumnitzera genus . 12 species of sea grass and 147 species of seaweeds were recorded.
The peak abundance of the species in the mangroves around Darwin Harbour during the mid-dry and early wet season coincided with the production of young and the flowering of the yellow mangrove ( " Ceriops australis " ).
The coastal strip and the creeks abound in semi-aquatic and aquatic plants, and the inshore Indus delta islands have forests of " Avicennia tomentosa " ( timmer ) and " Ceriops candolleana " ( chaunir ) trees.
