A & R rep for the Tigerstyle, Mike Treff, had previously operated his own record label named Linkwork Records.
Since it would be one of the first Tigerstyle releases, but limited to Vinyl, Treff opted to make it Linkwork Record's last release instead.
In 1876 he published his article " On a General Method of describing Plane Curves of the nth degree by Linkwork, " which showed that for an arbitrary algebraic plane curve a linkage can be constructed that draws the curve.
