Webbing is present in the hind feet of the coypu ( " Myocastor coypus " ) of South America, which is currently classified in its own family.
The East Asian raccoon dog ( " Nyctereutes procyonoides " ), bizam / introduced muskrat ( " Ondatra zibethica " ), and to some extent South American nutria ( " Myocastor coypus " ), are recent species that have successfully adapted.
The larger ones are coipo, coypu, " Myocastor coypus ", a webbed-feet animal that inhabits reedy lake and river banks; and Wolffsohn's viscacha, " Lagidium wolffsohni ", of the family Chinchillidae, whose preferred habitat is above the timber line.
