These are the rubrospinal tract, the vestibulospinal tract, the tectospinal tract and the reticulospinal tract.
The tectospinal, vestibulospinal and reticulospinal descend ipsilaterally in the anterior column but do not synapse across the anterior white commissure.
The function of the tectospinal tract is to mediate reflex postural movements of the head in response to visual and auditory stimuli.
It also carries the descending tectospinal tract and medial vestibulospinal tracts into the cervical spinal cord, and innervates some muscles of the neck and upper limbs.
