Archosauriformes have previously been included in the suborder Proterosuchia of the order Thecodontia.
In mid-20th century textbooks, like Alfred Sherwood Romer's " suborders of the now-abandoned order Thecodontia.
"' Proterosuchia "'refers to one of the suborders of thecodontia; specifically the most primitive and ancestral forms.
As such, it is usually dumped in favour of a new, more restrictive name ( for example, Rhynchocephalia or Thecodontia ), or abandoned altogether ( for example, " Simia " ).
Other fossils found in the park include those of advanced cynodontia ( canine toothed animals ), small thecodontia ( animals with teeth set firmly in the jaw ), bird-like and crocodile-like dinosaurs.
