Krogh was the head of the first laboratory for animal physiology ( zoophysiology ) at the University of Copenhagen.
He was hired at the University of Oslo in 1956, and served as a professor of zoophysiology from 1975 to 1994.
He returned to Copenhagen as Professor of Zoophysiology, and then went back to Cambridge in 1966 to become Professor of Zoology there.
