• I suggest you install soffit vents, and make them a continuous vent 2 inches wide.
• You did something right in putting in good-sized, continuous vents, then someone closes them most of the way.
• Be sure, also, to install soffit vents, a continuous vent strip going the full length of each soffit ( the underpart of the roof overhang ).
• Also, the soffit vents, which are 12-inch rectangles every 6 to 8 feet, are rusted and bad looking, and my husband wants to replace them with continuous vent strips.
• Anyway, install a two-or three-inch continuous vent in the middle of the soffit, for the full length of the soffit and on both sides of the house down the middle of the entire soffit.
• For adequate ventilation there should be plenty of soffit vents under the overhanging eaves, as well as a series of other vents along the top of the roof, or along the roof ridge ( continuous vents are even better ).
