ในวันที่ 8 สิงหาคม 2559 มีการประกาศพระราชกฤษฎีกาพระราชทานอภัยโทษ 2559 ทั้งปติวัฒน์และภรณ์ทิพย์ต่างเข้าเกณฑ์ได้รับการปล่อยตัวก่อนครบกำหนดโทษเดิมในวันที่ 5 ตุลาคม และ 6 ตุลาคม 2559 ตามลำดับ On 8 August 2016, Royal Gazette pubblished Royal Pardon Decree of 2016. Patiwat and Pornthip were qualified to be release prior to the actual prison term on 5 October and 6 October 2016 accordingly.
