• Many larger, pelagic species, such as the mackerel sharks ( Lamnidae ) and the thresher sharks ( Alopiidae ), no longer possess them.
• All sharks in the family Lamnidae  shortfin mako, long fin mako, white, porbeagle, and salmon shark  are endothermic, and evidence suggests the trait exists in family Alopiidae ( thresher sharks ).
