• Bandoni therefore limited the Auriculariaceae to the genus " Auricularia ".
• Preliminary phylogenetic studies suggest the Exidiaceae is closely related to Auriculariaceae, the two share many morphological traits.
• Bandoni therefore amended the Auriculariales to include the family Auriculariaceae ( with auricularioid basidia ) together with the families Exidiaceae, Aporpiaceae, Hyaloriaceae, and Sebacinaceae ( with tremelloid basidia ).
• Bandoni referred the latter group to the Auriculariaceae, restricting the Tremellaceae to the genera " Holtermannia ", " Tremella ", and " Trimorphomyces ".
• Martin therefore included within the Tremellales not only the Tremellaceae, but also the Auriculariaceae, Dacrymycetaceae, Hyaloriaceae, Phleogenaceae, Septobasidiaceae, Sirobasidiaceae, and Tulasnellaceae ( including " Ceratobasidium " ).
