- It bears several yellow flowers contained in a cuplike unit of fused bractlets.
- The lanceolate shaped bractlets are in two series, with the apices acuminate in shape.
- Between the sepals are five narrow bractlets.
- Each flower is cupped by small, clear bractlets and has pointed greenish brown tepals.
- But unlike other violets, it has conduplicated leaf blades, strong and oblong lanceolate to broadly elliptical lobes with blunt tips, and large basally-fused pedicel bractlets.
- The flowers are 60 70 mm long, yellow or green in color but flushed with red or purple shading, as well as the bractlets, giving an overall darker appearance.
- "Aloysia fiebrigii " is distinguished by whorled, arcuate leves, short spikes ( 7-17 mm long ), short calyces 1.2-1.6 mm long, and bractlets approximately the same length as the calyx.
