• Mylonite development, biotitization, chloritization and microgranulation are found associated with these surfaces.
• These rocks therefore underwent chlorite ( chloritization ) indicating retrograde metamorphism under greenschist facies conditions.
• The chloritization of the biotite is a clear sign for retrograde metamorphic overprinting under greenschist facies conditions.
• The chloritization seems to be general and can be seen to affect other basement rocks ( i . e . granites and granodiorites ) in the Limousin.
