coereba การใช้
- It is the only member of the genus Coereba ( Vieillot, 1809 ) and the family Coerebidae.
- The red-purple fruits provide food for birds, including the bananaquit ( " Coereba flaveola " ) and the western spindalis ( " Spindalis zena " ).
- These families ( with the possible exception of the Fringillidae ) appear to form a clade; the status of the peculiar olive warbler and the distinct bananaquit ( " Coereba flaveola " ) need to be clarified.
- The most common include endemic subspecies of black-crowned antshrike ( " Thamnophilus atrinucha gorgonae " ), bananaquit ( " Coereba flaveola gorgonae " ) and red-legged honeycreeper ( " Cyanerpes cyaneus gigas " ).
- In its introduced range, this plant acts as a supplier of fruit to some bird species which feed on it opportunistically, such as " Pitangus sulphuratus ", " Coereba flaveola " and " Thraupis sayaca " species in Brazil.
- The spindalises were traditionally considered aberrant tanagers of the family Thraupidae, but like the equally enigmatic bananaquit ( " Coereba flaveola " ), they are often treated as " incertae sedis " ( place uncertain ) among the nine-primaried oscines.
