• Other infections could also occur, such as onychomycosis and otomycosis . " A . terreus " has the ability to cause serious effects in immunocompromised patients who lack specific immune cells.
• It is available in combination with clioquinol, under the trade name "'Locacorten-Vioform "'( in some countries Locorten-Vioform ), for the treatment of otitis externa and otomycosis.
• Although there is evidence that steroids are effective at reducing the length of treatment time required, fungal otitis externa ( also called otomycosis ) may be caused or aggravated by overly prolonged use of steroid-containing drops.
