- Parangi was only eradicated in the 1940s with the introduction of penicillin.
- The name later corrupted to become Parangi Malai which is presently called as St . Thomas Mount.
- Ramabadramba too refers to the campaign but names Achuthappa's enemies as " Parangi ", the Tamil word used for colonial Europeans.
