- It is extremely similar to " petiolar process.
- The petiolar node ( B on Figure 2 ) is dome-shaped when seen from the side.
- The males of " Adetomyrma aureocuprea " display remarkable petiolar shape, and hairs on body surface.
- The holotype fossil was first studied by entomologist Maria L . De Andrade of the University of Basle with her 1991 petiolar node.
- The petiolar-rachis is characteristically long and functions as a cladophyll . it has a white or yellow-colored peeling off bark.
- The mandibles of " M . regularis " are much narrower, the posterior corners of the head are more round and the petiolar peduncle is longer.
- In addition, two autapomorphies ( a differently shaped petiolar tergum and sternum, and the eyes at or close to the apex of the antennal scrobe ) separated " Tatuidris " from all other extant ant genera included in their study.
- The unique shape of the promesonotum, trapezoidal in dorsal view and with well defined angles at the sides; the comparatively high and narrow petiolar node, contrasting with the broader, low and round postpetiolar node, the low position of the insertion of the postpetiole on the anterior face of first gastral segment, and the dorsal extensions of abdominal sternite 4 are unique and represent potential apomorphies of " Diaphoromyrma ".
