• Research included the further development of cardiovascular surgery; new techniques of ECG and phonocardiography; treatment of congestive cardiac failure and of arterial hypertension.
• While in Mexico he also enrolled at the Phonocardiography and Hemodynamics Service Unit and attended several courses on medical nephropathy, clinical cardiology, superior electrocardiography and external graphical registry.
• He was one of the first to incorporate the use of computers to teach physics and, with his daughter Dr . Jean Bennett Maguire, devised a method of real-time spectral phonocardiography for the detection and classification of heart murmurs.
