• The largest known fishes of the now-extinct class Placodermi were " Dunkleosteus " and " Titanichthys ".
• Placodermi first appeared in the Silurian, and the group became extinct during the transition from the Devonian to the Carboniferous, leaving no descendants.
• The last species of " Bothriolepis " die out, together with the rest of Placodermi, at the end of the Devonian period.
