• Alpine penny-cress ( " Thlaspi alpestre " ) found at the site indicates heavy metal contamination of the river probably arising from mineral mines in the river's catchment area.
• Quite a few more clusters turn up in sufficiently obscure words, such as in " tlaspo " " Thlaspi " ( a genus of herb ), and Aztec deities such as " Tlaloko " ('Tlaloc') . ( The phonemes are presumably devoiced in these words .)
• Other plant species noted are rare wood fescue ( " Festuca altissima " ) found amongst moss on screes, mountain pansy ( " Viola lutea " ) on allivial deposits on the bank of the Allen; and reflecting the influence of Northern Pennine Orefield, alpine penny-cress ( " Thlaspi alpestre " ) is found.
