• A single gynophore protrudes from amongst the stamens in the open flower.
• In the first phase, the individual small flowers, known as nectary lies at the base of the gynophore.
• Each flower is encased in a long perianth, The individual flower bears a sessile nectary lies at the base of the gynophore.
• The fruit is plum-like ( oblong-ovoid ), up to 50mm long, slightly ribbed with longitudinal suture lines clearly visible, and pendent from the long gynophore and peduncle.
