• Frogs are apparently not affected by Meloidae beetle toxin, and " consume meloids with impunity ".
• Desert birds and lizards are predators of " C . pallida, " and these bees can be parasitized by the meloid beetle ( " Tegrodera erosa " ); however, rain is the largest threat to these bees.
• In parts of the west European range of the species, " Colletes hederae " are frequently parasitized by the larvae of the meloid beetle " Stenoria analis ", that feed on the supply of nectar and pollen prepared by females bees in their nests.
• The larvae are insectivorous, mainly attacking bees, though a few feed on grasshopper eggs; while sometimes considered parasitoids, in general, the meloid larva apparently consumes the immature host along with its provisions, and can often survive on the provisions alone, thus it is not an obligatory parasitoid, but rather a facultative parasitoid, or simply predatory.
