- He was made dean of Ely on 7 August 1667, holding the subdeanery of Lincoln with the deanery till 1671.
- He is mentioned in a papal mandate, dated 31 March 1396, in relation to his grant of the subdeanery to John de Kylwos.
- At the Restoration he received the degree of D . D . by royal mandate, 28 January 1660, and on 23 August he was presented by the crown to the subdeanery of Lincoln Cathedral, and on 8 December received the mastership of the Spital Hospital at Spital-in-the-Street.
- A similar mandate for confirmation, this time issued to the Bishop of Moray ( Henry de Lichton ) and dated 16 August 1417, was as a result of similar concerns, this time in relation to one John de Kylwos, regarding Kylwos'exchange of the Ross subdeanery for the treasurership, an exchange authorised by Bishop Alexander.
- Then he accepted the tutorship of Bishop George Pretyman Tomline's eldest son archdeaconry of Stow with the prebend of Liddington ( 29 September ) 1823 ); to the rectory of Westmeon with Privet, in Hampshire ( 1826 ); and to the twelfth stall in Westminster Abbey ( 1828 ), when he resigned his subdeanery and canonry at Lincoln.
