• Molecular phylogenetic studies have shown that Centrospermae is monophyletic.
• In these systems the order is placed close to the order Caryophyllales ( or its predecessor Centrospermae ).
• In the APG III system, and in later versions of the Kubitzki system, Caryophyllales is defined to include much more than Centrospermae.
• Similarly, cladistic analysis showed Limnanthaceae either in a clade with Balsaminaceae and sometimes Pentadiplandraceae or in a polytomy with Balsaminaceae, Pentadiplandraceae, Caricacaeae, Centrospermae, and a clade which includes all the rest of the glucosinolate taxa ( except " Drypetes " ).
